Excursion from Split - Split

1. SPLIT – UNESCO SITE AND MEDIEVAL TREASURES

Discover the nearby UNESCO protected monument Diocletian’s palace in the Historical nucleus of SPLIT. Walk trough the medieval streets as the Romans did 18 centuries ago and enjoy the most impressive sites such as the palace of the great emperor Diocletian with his mausoleum – today’s cathedral, Peristyle, Golden gate, various statues, Venetian palaces and much more. Afterwards spend some free time exploring Riva-Split’s beautiful waterside promenade lined with restaurants, shops and cafes.

2. UNESCO TROGIR – THE OLDEST CITY ON THE ADRIATIC COAST

Take a trip through history and visit Trogir- small picturesque town with lot of secrets situated on a lovely island by Adriatic sea. Reveal the unique memorial heritage for which it was recorded in the Register of World Heritage of UNESCO in 1997. Adore the beautiful masterpieces of famous sculptors such as the magnificent Cathedral’s portal of master Radovan and the relief’s of master Niccolò di Giovanni Fiorentino.

3. WATERFALL MAGIC AT KRKA NATIONAL PARK & VISIT CITY OF ŠIBENIK

Need refreshment on a hot summer day? Spend your time visiting one of the best known natural beauties of Croatia just one hour distance from your hotel. Before you decide to take a splash in the tempting cold river enjoy the fascinating walk through an authentically restored ensemble of small stone houses, workshops, exhibits and watermills as well as the boat ride across the river. Excursion from Split - Zadar

4. UNESCO ZADAR

If you are interested to discover how history meets the present than chose to spend your afternoon in the Historic ancient city of Zadar. Drive along the sea front to adore the beautiful coastal nature and little towns along the road, than take back the highway to experience the different landscapes of the hinterlands. Zadar’s street layout dates back to Roman times. During the Middle Ages it was the main base of the Byzantine fleet. It became a Venetian colony in 1409, and was very prosperous. Visit the round 9th century St Donatus’ Church is the most important preserved structure of its period in Dalmatia.

Beside the historical centre discover one of the first musical pipe organs that are played by the sea so called – Zadar’s Sea Organs and the famous site called the Greeting to the sun.

Excursion from Split - Klis i Salona

5. SALONA AND KLIS FORTRESS – ROADS OF TRADITIONAL DALMATIAN SWEETS AND VICTORIOUS BATTLES

Enter the time machine that will take you back centuries before Christ to Salona – the ancient metropolis of the Roman province Dalmatia. Discover the stories and ruins of the Illyrians, Greeks and Romans who built up a glamorous city with all its attributes such as the typical Thermae, Amphitheatre and Basilicas. Continue to the pass between two Dalmatian mountains, Kozjak on the west and Mosor on the east side, there one can find the old Fortress of Klis best known for its defense against the Ottoman invasion of Europe in the early 16th century and for it’s marvelous panoramic views of the coastal area. Excursion from Split - Brac

6. DISCOVER THE BEAUTY OF ISLAND BRAČ

Enjoy a panoramic tour of Brac, passing olive groves, vineyards, evergreen macchia bushes, picturesque villages and old stone quarries. In Roman times, Brac was known as Soletta, and many wealthy nobles had villas there. After the destruction of the Roman city of Salona by the Avars and Croats in 614AD, many of the refugees settled on Brac, and founded villages and churches. Brac is especially famous for its hard white stone, which has been quarried for centuries. The Royal Palace in Stockholm and the White House in Washington are both faced with stone from Brac. A must see is also the Golden cape near Bol, the famous beach that changes its form depending on the wind that blowes.

In a deep valley two kilometers from Postire lies Dol, a traditional village of stone-built houses that rest against the eastern slope of a hill. Enjoy a tour of this village which is surrounded by rich greenery. After your relaxing walk discover a local konoba where you will enjoy a traditional snack – lovely home wine, prsutto and cheese, olives all home made.

Excursion from Split - NP Plitvice

8. UNESCO NATIONAL PARK PLITVICE

Chose to visit an unique jewel of Croatia- the Plitvice Lakes. Drive north along the coast for your first stop on a viewpoint above Skradin having an amazing scenic view over the National Park Krka. Then the road takes you through gently undulating countryside to the attractive Plitvicka Jezera

National Park. Within this UNESCO World Heritage Site there’s a series of 16 beautiful lakes formed by natural dams, and famous for the way they change colour. They’re linked by cascading waterfalls and you can explore following the wooden walkways and walking trails around them. The surrounding forest is home to bears, wolves and many rare species of bird.

Excursion from Split - Omis and Cetina

9. OMIŠ AND CETINA CANION

This excursion takes you by coach to the stunning rock canyon of Cetina, one of the natural wonders of Croatia. The beautiful Cetina River and its canyon, nearby mountaintops and islands, ancient vineyards and olive plantations make up a landscape of great beauty.

Visit the historic town of Omis, where the mouth of the Cetina River opens into the sea. 10. DUBROVNIK – PEARL OF MEDITERRANEAN
