Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival: IMOTSKI

Upon arrival at the airport, transfer to the Emotheo Heritage Hotel in the center of Imotski. After settling into this elegant, traditionally styled hotel, enjoy some free time to relax and get to know the local atmosphere.

Day 2. IMOTSKI - PLACE OF NATURAL PHENOMENA

The morning begins with a cycling tour through the picturesque Imotski countryside – charming villages, vineyards, and natural landscapes guide us to the breathtaking Red and Blue Lakes, natural wonders and symbols of Imotski.
After sightseeing, lunch awaits at the Grabovica family farm, where we will savor local specialties such as peka, homemade prosciutto, and local wine.
The afternoon is reserved for relaxation in nature, or for those seeking more activity – stand-up paddling or a canoe safari on the crystal-clear and calm Vrljika River.

Day 3. SINJ - ALKA, HORSES & FLAVORS OF THE CETINA REGION

Departure to Sinj, a town famous for the knightly tournament Sinjska Alka. First stop is the Alka Museum, where an interactive exhibition introduces us to the rich history of the region.
After the museum, we continue to the Alkarski dvori, where we will learn about and participate in the making of parts of the Alka attire and equipment – from traditional leather shoes (opanci), to weaving wool socks and terluks worn by Alka squires. As many old crafts are slowly disappearing, we will also be educated about the importance of preserving traditional skills and cultural heritage.
The day ends at a countryside estate, where we will experience horseback riding under the guidance of instructors (perfect even for beginners), followed by an outdoor picnic featuring local delicacies typical of the Cetina region.

Day 4. VRLIKA - WHERE RIVERS SING AND MOUNTAINS STAND GUARD

Today’s cycling tour begins at the source of the Cetina River, one of the deepest springs in Europe. From here, we embark on an unforgettable ride through the untouched landscapes of the Dalmatian hinterland.
Our first stop is the Church of St. Spas, one of the most significant early medieval sacral monuments in Croatia, dating back to the 8th century. After that, we will continue towards the Pločasti and Balečki bridges, important landmarks of the region’s cultural and historical heritage.
The route then leads us to the medieval Fortress Prozor, perched above the town of Vrlika. Here we will enjoy panoramic views of the Cetina Valley and Peruča Lake. After a short break for rest, photography, and absorbing the history of the fortress, cycling continues to a family farm in Maovice. Here we will taste local delicacies, learn about the traditional way of life, and watch demonstrations of making cheese, brandy, and bread – all produced traditionally, following recipes passed down through generations.

Day 5. IMOTSKI - SOLIN: SUNSET IN ANCIENT SALONA

After check-out, transfer to Solin, a historic town near Split. Accommodation at the Hotel President Solin.
Following a short rest, the afternoon is dedicated to exploring Ancient Salona, once the magnificent metropolis of the Roman province of Dalmatia. With expert guidance, we will walk among the impressive remains of the amphitheater, forum, and baths, bringing to life the stories of everyday Roman life on the Adriatic coast.
After the tour, a special experience awaits – an open-air painting workshop beside the remains of the amphitheater. Inspired by the landscape, heritage, and colors of the sunset, it is time to express our creativity in this unique setting. Guided by a local artist, we will capture our impressions of history on canvas, all while enjoying local food and wine.

Day 6. SOLIN

The day begins with a cycling route along the scenic banks of the Jadro River, one of the most important karst rivers in Dalmatia. This river not only supplies the region with drinking water but is also home to numerous endemic and protected species, most notably the softmouth trout.
We will visit a trout hatchery to learn firsthand about the importance of preserving river ecosystems, the breeding of native species, and the role this plays in maintaining biodiversity.
After the ride and educational visit, we continue to a nearby olive grove for a unique open-air culinary workshop. Surrounded by centuries-old olive trees and Mediterranean aromas, guided by a local chef, we will prepare traditional Dalmatian dishes – from fresh fish and seasonal vegetables to homemade pasta and aromatic sauces, all enriched with local olive oil. We enjoy the meal we prepared ourselves in the shade of olive trees, while learning about the history of olive growing in Dalmatia and the importance of preserving traditional methods.

Day 7. Departure

After breakfast, transfer to the airport. Time to say goodbye – but the memories of cycling, local flavors, and warm hospitality will stay with you long after the trip.

I was honestly a bit worried because I’m not super fit, but this tour turned out amazing. The landscapes, hidden villages, and local food just made me forget about tired legs. Every stop was worth it, it felt like the more I saw, the less I cared about the effort. Best way to explore the real Dalmatia!
