Itinerary
Day 1. ARRIVAL, CHECK-IN & WELCOME DINNER
Upon arrival in Croatia, you will be transferred to your selected accommodation near Plitvice Lakes National Park. After check-in and some time to relax, you will enjoy a welcome dinner featuring traditional Lika specialities.
Day 2. GOSPIĆ, SMILJAN & GRABOVAČA CAVE PARK
The day begins with a visit to the Nikola Tesla Memorial Centre Smiljan, the birthplace of one of the world’s greatest innovators. This is followed by a guided tour of Gospić, where you will discover the history, architecture, and everyday life of the Lika region.
In the afternoon, we explore Grabovača Cave Park, the only cave park in Croatia, and learn about its fascinating geological formations and processes. The day concludes with an authentic rural experience and tasting of local products at a family farm.
Day 3. GACKA RIVER SPRINGS & KUTEREVO BEAR SANCTUARY
After breakfast, we travel to the springs of the Gacka River springs, one of Croatia’s most beautiful natural sites, known for its crystal-clear waters and peaceful scenery. The journey continues to the Kuterevo Bear Sanctuary, where we learn about wildlife conservation and the rescue of this protected species.
In the afternoon, local hosts introduce traditional food-making techniques, and we actively participate in preparing homemade specialties. The evening is reserved for a communal dinner and storytelling about life in Lika.
Day 4. KRASNO & NORTHERN VELEBIT NATIONAL PARK
This day is dedicated to discovering the beauty of the Velebit mountain range, Croatia’s largest mountain range. Upon arrival in Krasno, we enjoy a walk to scenic viewpoints offering breathtaking mountain panoramas.
In the Northern Velebit National Park, an expert guide introduces the region’s rich biodiversity and explains the importance of preserving this unique ecosystem. The day ends with a traditional dinner featuring regional dishes.
Day 5. PRIVATE GUIDED TOUR OF PLITVICE LAKES NATIONAL PARK
Accompanied by a private local guide, we will explore Croatia’s most famous national park. During the tour, we will learn about the formation of the park’s unique travertine barriers, its diverse flora and fauna, as well as its most spectacular viewpoints and waterfalls. The remainder of the day is free for relaxation and enjoyment of the natural surroundings.
Day 6. OGULIN, DEVIL’S PASSAGE HIKING TRAIL & DELNICE
The day begins in Ogulin, a town renowned for its rich history and legends that inspired Croatian author Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić. The tour includes a visit to Ivana’s House of Fairy Tales and the historic Frankopan Castle. We then continue to the impressive Devil’s Passage Canyon, one of the most remarkable natural attractions of the Gorski Kotar region.
In the afternoon, we visit Delnice and a local family farm, offering the opportunity to taste honey, cheeses, and other regional products.
Day 7. RISNJAK NATIONAL PARK
The final full day of the journey is spent in Risnjak National Park, one of Croatia’s most important protected areas. During a guided hiking tour, you will discover diverse forest ecosystems, mountain meadows, and the park’s rich wildlife.
A special highlight is an educational program led by a local guide or park ranger, offering insight into conservation efforts and biodiversity protection. After the park visit, we enjoy a tasting of local wines and cheeses, followed by a farewell gathering featuring traditional cuisine.
Day 8. DEPARTURE
After breakfast and check-out, a transfer to the airport will be arranged. You depart with lasting memories of Croatia’s natural wonders, cultural heritage, and authentic experiences in Lika, Velebit, and Gorski Kotar.
